Sustainability
Our first president, Eiichi Ogawa, opened several gardens and mansions that were owned by the privileged so that people whose lives were devastated by the war could use them as places of rest. By making use of these facilities to serve society, he laid down the foundation of the tourism industry. As part of our corporate mission, we continue to carry on the spirit of tackling social issues that evolve with the times through our business.
We are also taking strong measures regarding the pandemic that has gripped society in line with our newly established Environmental Hygiene Policy, and are working so that customers can use our services with peace of mind.
We must also address global warming and climate change—two issues that are being tackled throughout the world. These issues affect the very existence of our company, which depends on the blessings of nature.
We formed the SDGs Committee in 2019 and also set forth the following key issues for sustainable growth:
- (1) Environmental conservation
- (2) Customer safety and security
- (3) Diversity and inclusion (respecting human rights)
- (4) Contributing to the community and society and preserving cultural assets and historical architecture
- (5) Compliance with corporate ethics
We will work together to solve these issues and help fulfill the SDGs through our business.
